BEFROE & AFTER n°11 - KIDS ROOM
In our new before&after we present you a makeover from storage/office space into little girls bedroom. It was a challenging project as the space is so tiny and still has to accommodate multiple functions: a sleeping, play, reading and storage area. Challenge accepted!
COLORS and MATERIALS
We chose pastel colours as they are always a great choice for children’s rooms. It’s better to have less stimulating shades in the sleeping area, which make pastel the perfect ally. It helps them relax when going to bed and it will also add a delicate touch to the bedroom.
As kids start discovering the world, they need to be stimulated and we can do so by creating atmospheres that stimulate their imagination. Even though using multiple colors is better for game rooms, there are times when the bedroom serves as playing space during the day. We painted the walls in different shades and created a color blocked geometric pattern that is fun and stimulating when used as a playroom, but also gentle and calming for nap time.
We found the perfect solution for this tiny space and used the IKEA KURA bunk bed. Turned upside down the bed quickly converts from low to high bed. In this way, the lower part can be used as a play zone -a cozy play nook lightened up with fairy lights. For the final touch, we decorated the bed with floral patterned stickers.
We managed to create a functional, yet fun room for our little client to grow up in. Hope you like it, as much as she does.
